Good day or Bad day...you pick...

We started the day off GREEAT...even though we "attempted" to stay up and watch the Superbowl.  We went to the housing office at 9:00.  We picked out our house; a 4 BR government-leased property in a nice little community about 13 miles from post.  Then, Rob dropped me off at the school to meet with the guidance counselors while he went to some classes and appointments.  We decided to walk back to the base which, in the car seems like a short distance.  However, on foot, it seems MUCH longer. HA!  There is a pedestrian gate that takes you down a path through one of the Italian's fields (they are kind enough to allow soldiers and family members to pass through.).  The path leads you down a couple side streets out to the main highway.  I was a little nervous to be walking down the street so close to the crazy traffic with the kids.  (I may need to look into that permanent nerve pill subscription after all! ha!)  There is a pedestrian cross light that stops traffic (traffic literally comes to a screeching halt for you).  I felt soooo insecure crossing the street.  It felt like everyone was watching us in a weird sort of way.  I think I get like that because of the language barriers and the cultural differences.  We made it back into Ederle just fine.  It's so weird having the Italian Police at the gates.  We do have an MP at the main gate, but there are also the Italian guys as well.
We had several appointments throughout the day; from lunch account registration to finalizing the youth sports registration.  Rob was also pretty busy all day.
During the course of our appointments, my poor Fisher got sick and threw up a couple of times!  ick!  We were on foot, with the stroller, when he vomited all over himself, the stroller, and the sidewalk.  I only got it a little bit.  It was a little chilly outside, even though it was the middle of the day, so I stripped him down and wrapped him in Hunter's big jacket (Hunter wasn't wearing it, because "it's not cold" so he says.).  He never threw up again, but he went to bed at 7:00, so I know he wasn't feeling too great.
We took Abbi and Hunter to the PX to get their backpacks.  They are excited about school tomorrow.  They have all the basic subjects plus Art, Computer Lab, and Italian Culture.  Abbi is very very excited about the culture class.  She is trying to learn the language and doing pretty good.  They enjoying talking to the Italians in their language every chance they get.  Little Fisher is still learning a word or two here and there as well.   :o)
They will get on the bus at 7:40 in the morning and get off shortly after 3:00 tomorrow afternoon.  I so wish I had a little run around car, I would go get them.  I feel a little helpless without that commodity right now.  I am getting good exercise tho!  Guess there is a bright side to everything!  Looking forward to having our visitors soon!  Love you all!
