The story of the Tower of Babel does not make my top ten favorite Bible story list right now for sure! The confoundment of the language is causing me grief! After battling the language barrier for an hour, with some BIG help from Bro. Rob, the Kia dealership offered to keep our van and diagnose the problem. They do not make the Sedona model here, so more than likely they will not have the parts to fix it. If they order the parts, it will take them several months to get here and we will have to pay customs fees. They are going to give me a print out of the parts we need and I will call the Louisiana Kia dealer directly and order the parts myself. :) They will ship them to me quickly and then the Kia dealer here can fix my car. :) It is a lot of work, but that is the best way to go about it in order to get my van fixed in a timely manner.
Rob found out today that he will probably be going to Germany this Friday for 3 weeks in order to teach a "What can a K9 team do for your unit during deployment?" class to a few thousand people. I am not excited about being by myself, but Anna will be here on the 28th, so I will have some company at some point while he is gone. He will know for sure tomorrow whether or not he has to go.
Abbi feels like she did well today on the first part of her testing. Her teacher sent home a progress report and she seems to have caught on quite well with the class. I went outside today to find her hanging on our fence talking with several local Italian girls. They managed to get each others names, ages, birthdays, and they talked about their pets and siblings. It was cute. Abbi introduced me and as I greeted them with, "Ciao", they greeted me with "Hi". It was funny. Abbi said they spoke very broken English, and they got tickled at the language barrier, but she must have talked to them for over 30 minutes. She enjoyed it very much.
Hunter got in a little bit of trouble today at school and had to write a page of sentences. I don't think his teacher realized how "busy" Hunter is. His bus monitor let him use the bathroom today ON THE BUS. They have a toilet on the bus, but the kids are not suppose to use it. It is for public transportation purposes. I am sure it is a DOD rule. I like that rule anyway. However, Hunter told the bus monitor if she didn't let him go to the toilet, he was going to wet his pants. hahaha! I guess he couldn't hold it any longer. The bus monitor is suppose to talk to his teacher tomorrow and have him use the bathroom right before they leave the school in the afternoon.
Fisher has been a fuss bucket all afternoon. I don't know what was wrong with him, but nothing made him happy. He slept for a long time this afternoon. We tried to wake him up several times, but he got really mad. I am hoping he is not getting sick. Abbi did say she wasn't feeling well.
We are having some issues with our hot water here. From about 5:00 until 9:30, we have NO hot water. That doesn't go over well since we all need baths. Tonight, Rob and I boiled water and mixed it with cold water in the tub to come up with a suitable temperature for bath water. ugh! That was a hassle. I think it took a couple dozen trips to the tub with pots of hot water to get it filled enough. I even had the coffee pot going! Country folks can survive.....
I will definitely be looking forward to Wednesday night service this week....boy do I need it!
Goodnight!
