Having some ME time

I am enjoying some time to myself at the moment. It has been rough the past couple weeks. Fisher has been really sick. He ran a temp of 104 last night and his arms/legs started jerking. I called the nurse line at the clinic and they told me to take him to the ER. That would have been a bad experience had it not been for Ms. Isabella. She came to sit with me and encourage me while I waited on the doctor. Turns out, the military liaisons were quite busy last night with soldiers who required urgent care. Isabella was able to interpret for me and the physicians so we didn't have to wait quite as long as we should've. What a blessing that was. A very good friend! After following up with the doctor today at the clinic, it has been determined that Fisher may have a double dose of a virus and possibly allergy problems already. :( We will revisit the clinic next week and see if the symtpoms have improved any, and if not, we will have to discuss some maintenance treatment for allergies.
Abbi had a Science Fair at school yesterday at school and did very well. Her project was how to make an egg float. I will be posting pictures soon. She hasn't gotten her grade yet, but I am sure she did very well.
Hunter went on a field trip today to Soave Castle. He brought home a sparkly miniature of the Roman Collesium as a souvenir for me. He is such a sweet little boy. They had bought gelato but his slid off the cone. When I asked him why he didn't buy another one he said, "I wanted to make sure I had enough money to buy you something." Awww!
I am so excited! I bought a food saver today online. I am looking forward to using it when it gets here. Rob and I decided to start a little emergency supply of food. It's kind of a controversial thing for me. I know the Lord will always provide our needs, but He did tell us to "Go to the ant..." . If we know that there is a potential for problems, I think that the Lord would have us prepare ourselves. It's no different than preparing for a bad storm.
I am going to ask that my praying friends please keep me in your prayers. I have been in a slump here lately. I know the allergies and conditions here physically don't help, but I don't want my relationships with the Lord, my husband, my children, my neighbors, etc. to find themselves on rocky ground. I have just been facing battle after battle. I know God is trying to work in my life, and it seems like a lot of times after I ask Him to do something in my life, He tries, and I fight Him. I know I am essentially fighting my flesh, but when the rubber meets the road, I am fighting HIM. Just pray for me.
I am so thankful for what the Lord is doing in the lives of the children. Hunter had the opportunity to hide a wrongdoing today and lie about it. In the end, he told the truth, and apologized to the neighbors personally. God is so good to our little family. He has put us in a wonderful church fellowship with a pastor who loves the Lord and preaches God's Word. It's hard to say that about most preachers these days. Most water down the Gospel, if it is ever even preached. They want to preach what will make the congregation feel good. I am so thankful for a pastor who isn't afraid to preach what the Holy Spirit lays on his heart. To feel the conviction of the Holy Spirit really is a wonderful thing. It doesn't seem so at first, but hind sight is 20/20. When you are convicted, that means God isn't through with you yet. I am also thankful for our pastor's wife. Not just because she is my friend, but she has been such a Godly example to me. I can leart a lot from her if the Lord continues to bless me with the opportunity. I am looking forward to it.
Rob's birthday is coming up and I haven't quite decided what to do yet, but I am thinking we will make a cake and a special dinner. Maybe we will have a friend or two over. Fisher's birthday is shortly behind Rob's. Time sure does fly! I have ordered the things to make Fisher a little Mickey Mouse cake. He will be very excited when it is ready. It is kinda sad that no family will be here to celebrate with us :( Anyone up for a last minute trip to Italy?! haha!
Rob leaves in a couple weeks for Germany. I am a little jealous. He will breathe clean, fresh air for a little while. It's great for him though. He needs it.
Well I am off for a bath and a cup of nice warm tea. (I have learned to drink tea here. I prefer it to their coffee. NOTHING like Starbucks!)
