Which dog are you feeding?

An old Cherokee told his grandson, “My son, there's a battle between two wolves inside us all. One is Evil. It's anger, jealousy, greed, resentment, inferiority, lies, and ego. The other is Good. It's joy, peace, love, hope, humility, kindness, empathy, and truth. The grandson thought about it and then asked his grandfather, “Which wolf wins?” The old Cherokee simply replied, “The one you feed." ~
WHICH DOG ARE YOU FEEDING?  "For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would." Galatians 5:17  We feed the flesh every time we indulge in the things of the world; secular music, ungodly television/movies, worldy attention/affections, etc.  Those are just a few "less offensive" ways we conform to the world.  You don't have to be in a nightclub partying it up, in a back alley selling drugs, or on a street corner selling yourself to be conforming to the world.  Many church pew warmers are conforming to the things of the world without even realizing it.  Maybe some do realize and they don't care.  Either way, we are feeding the wrong dog by conforming.  When we keep our hearts and minds focused on the Lord by reading His Word, singing praises to Him, witnessing to others, fellowshipping together with other believers, and not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together (YES!  GO TO CHURCH...FAITHFULLY!), we feed our spiritual man (the good dog in this case).  Now, which dog are we feeding?

We are very excited about a dinner we have scheduled for this evening.  Two of Abbi's Italian friends who are our neighbors, are coming over with their parents for dinner tonight.  Neither of us speak the other's language very well, so it is challenging at times, but still fun.  I am sure everything will go wonderfully!
On a more mixed emotions note, Pastor and Ms. Isabella will be traveling to the states on Wednesday.  I so wish we were packing up and going with them!  :(  Anyway, pray that the Lord will use them while they are there and will grow them closer to Himself.  We do not want to see them go for even a few months, but we know that God has a plan for these next few months.  We have met the Mclure's (the interim pastor and his wife who will be filling in for our church).  They are a wonderful couple and we are excited to have them for the time our Pastor will be gone!
We have a few exciting things coming up that I will write about later!  Until then....
